endsongs
”
I have just recently realized that, as I was moving through time, I was grieving for all the things dear to me that kept passing irreversibly, and yet I never managed to grieve over and let go of my own past self. In my first three books - Ran, Os, and Az - I was lamenting the departure of the world as I knew it, the disappearance of places and things. Next, in stoneorchardwoods, I wrote about the time-inflicted loss of people I loved (even those of them whom I, perhaps, never knew). Meanwhile, my new book endsongs deals primarily with getting further in time from my own self - a very personal, yet universal experience.
